KINGSFORD HOMESTEAD WEDDING
MEGAN & ANDREW
After 5 years and 200 episodes of working on Mcleod’s Daughters I finally returned to the homestead to photograph Megan & Andrew’s beautiful wedding. I remember the day I arrived to see the transformation of the 150 year old building. Gone were the holes in the roof where movie lights once hung and the false walls fixed into place, the footsteps of 50 plus crew members were replaced with cheers of joy and happiness as Megan & Andrew celebrated their life beginning together as husband and wife. I hold this part of the world close to my heart and know the land better than anyone in the industry, where the sun will be at any given time and the places to visit not often travelled to by wedding parties.
Kingsford Homestead / McLeod’s Daughters was were I learnt the art of story telling. I also remember the day the head of photography ( DP ) stopped production to teach me how to meter light, what will hold in the highlights and how to bring the best out in the actors skin tones.
The accommodation now is amazing and it is funny to think I use to sleep upstairs in my lunch break, hiding from the sun - but you would too after driving 900km and working 60 hours a week. I can’t wait to return and share my love for this amazing part of SA.
