Happy 2018 lovers!!!!

What a year 2017 was.

I had an amazing time photographing weddings in Adelaide, interstate and overseas. I travelled a lot in 2017 but was stoked to bring my family with me. Being booked for destination weddings is such an honour but it can actually be a pretty lonely gig. Sad but true. On the outside you may think it is all beer and skittles but the honest truth is you are alone a lot of the time. Not complaining at all as I do love having my family with me as it means we get to experience life in different places as a family unit. The adventures we went on, the people we met and the memories we made will stay with us for life.

I hope to turn this abandoned island of a wedding blog into something more real. I'm mixing things up here this year in this little corner of the blog world of mine. Sharing images, stories and advice for couples embarking on the journey of booking a wedding. I want couples to know how to have the most relaxed wedding you can whilst at the same time remembering / reminding couples what is important.

So enjoy all the planning if you're recently engaged and remember not to take life too seriously.

Celebrate, be you and party hard.

Mandalay House & Garden Wedding

What an amazing wedding Ana & Alex had a few weeks ago. Held in the stunning location Mandalay House and Garden just out of Mt Barker in Adelaide. With beautiful landscaping surrounding this private property it makes for the ideal spot to host a wedding. I was on a family holiday in Port Vincent and travelled to Mandalay House & Garden on the Saturday morning to photograph Ana & Alex's wedding celebrations. A close nit gathering of family and friends help celebrate the day in style. Late that night I made the 3 hour journey back to join my family and friends as it was my daughter Alannah's 5th birthday the next day and I couldn't not be there when she woke up all excited. 600km of travel in the one day plus shooting for 8 hours made for an epic adventure. I hadn't met Ana or Alex before their wedding day but when I arrived I was greeted warmly by them both and what a spectacular day we had.
